The Everything-in-the-world-happened-in-one-day day!

Yes. Everything happened yesterday.

Well, not everything.

I had a sore throat on Friday night and got to bed late...1:00 a.m.

I saw every hour of the clock.  Also heard an epic thunderstorm.

Woke up at 6:00 to get things ready for the big Yard Sale day.

Yes. my brother and his in-laws were joining the fun

at my house and bringing loads of stuff over to sell.

So, I went into the family room (in the basement, where we primarily reside)

Backstory: My husband is army, he is in the south somewhere...

Myself and our 3 children live in my in-law's basement.

They are on a service mission for our church...so I am the primary resident.

My mother-in-law's father lives in the west wing upstairs...

So back to walking into our family room...

soggy wet.

totally wet.

flooded carpets.

filled window well.

filled stair well.

suck.

Worst flood to date.

{yes. this has happened before--

yes. it was supposed to have been resolved.}

I began to move things as fast as possible.  Knowing I

couldn't do it myself, I woke up my 9 year old man 

of the house and he helped.  He put on his boots and bailed water.

Luckily my parents live close, so I called

them and asked them to come help.

Afterall, I had a yard sale to run too!

After sucking up the window well and stairwell, 

and vacuuming up 20+ gallons of water off the carpets...

we set out some towels...and little feet to walk on them.

Now we have fans blowing the ever-loving crap out of the carpet.

The stench will be great for days.

So, I blew it.  No pics of the yard sale.  

I consider it successful, in that I moved everything I wanted to move.

After the yard sale...Hula picnic party!

Super food...was such a blessing I didn't have to 

cook in my "non-operational" kitchen!
